RAINCLAN is struggling to find enough prey in their territory to feed everyone, while LIGHTCLAN is spread out too thin over theirs to fend off neighbouring clans... that's why Fogstar proposes to Lightstar they allow his cats to hunt in lightclan territory in exchange of border protection. Fogstar returns back to camp, confident that things may finally look up for his clan.

freshly apprenticed to the leader, Ashpaw, Noonpaw and Snakepaw need to look out for one another if they want to survive to warriorhood, but would the weight of who will become the new leader turn out to be too heavy for their friendship to withhold?

rainclan cats found dead is nothing new. they have always been surrounded by foes and even though they've been alligned with lightclan for enough moons to consider them clanmates of their own, down south SANDCLAN and STONECLAN still want them out of their way. Noontail, however, can't help but have a lingering feeling that these recent deaths don't quite look to be border casualties. it's no longer just a question of who will take up leadership between the three and all Ashstorm wants is for things to go back to how they were when Fogstar was still around.
