RELATIONSHIPS:

Matilda Puttman - Matilda was the one who gave him the name Lincoln. admittedly, he doesn't like it and only his family gets a pass at calling him Linny. that aside, Jes loves his mum dearly, and he knows she will always be there by his side. he has many fond memories about her embraces when he was anxious as a little kid.
Jake Anderson - Jes doesn't remember his dad, but sometimes he wishes he could. Jes now has his parents' old photo album.
Mark Puttman - Mark entering their life had left little Jes nothing less than completely shocked. he'd seen him before, but the announcement he wasn't just some dude flipped everything upside-down. he had sternly decided that he won't ever accept Mark as his step-dad and will always call him by his first name. except lately he realises that it's not so much out of spite anymore as it is out of habit, because as much as he'd rather not admit it to himself, he really has been like a father to him.
Katherine Puttman - Jes most certainly wished for his little sister to disappear the first few years of her existance, but now he loves being an older brother. many times he is forced to do Kati's hair, because she wants the cool braid without the effort of following the tutorial herself (and really Jes could just send her away if it was that bothersome to him, but it never is). even though they don't like the same things, they still bond over being total nerds for their franchises. there's a familiarity in it.
Mihail P. Malinov - Miho is the first good friend Jes made in school sometime during their 3rd year and even though he goes on to study in a different secondary school afterwards, they never lose touch and continue their game nights. Mihail is probably as we speak forcing Jes into an all-nighter NARUTO marathon with him.
Joana Clarke - a friend he made around year5, while bonding over their love for dogs, and remain schoolmates until graduating sixth form. when they're around 12, they mistakenly think they have crushes on one another and go on to be girlfriend and boyfriend for nearly all of secondary school. in year13 however they break up after Joana realises that she doesn't even like guys, but that never effects their friendship. actually, it was quite the weight lifted, there were too many expectations and assumptions that come with supposedly dating that made everything awkward at times.
Joe Cooper - while also becoming friends in year5, it took Joe a bit longer to become a part of the group. frankly, they really wasn't even a group at all at that point until Jes introduced Joe to Mihail and then the four of them with Joana ended up a quartet. unspokenly Jes feels understood by Joe, both struggling in school in ways Joana and Mihail didn't. they are into different sports, but will still gawk over matches when they're hanging out together, regardless if it's football or baseball or even swim. joe leaves ST. NEWT and goes to study in a sports collage after year11.
Anderson Roddick - while getting on the bus to a fieldtrip for the year13s unforutnately late, Jes had missed the opprotunity to sit with Joana and nobody else that he knew seemed to be sitting alone. left without much other choice, he ends up next to Anderson. even if the first half of the ride was awkward, by the time they step off they've had what Jes would consider a fun chat and he figures that maybe it was not so bad to have met someone new after all. (PS. Jes doesn't recognise him as someone he's seen at work, but probably thinks Andie looks a tad familiar......)
